iRobot Roomba 650 vs 770

It just seems like yesterday when the idea of an automatic vacuum cleaner was in the past.

Finally, when there were options that existed on the market they didn’t have many features.

Nowadays you have a vast amount of options to pick from.

Some Questions to consider before purchasing the vacuum:

  • Do I need a lightweight vacuum?
  • Which unit stands out better for me?
  • Which unit do you think will clean the most debri
  • Which type of automatic vacuum cleaner do I want?
  • Do I have a pet?

Looking for some quick comparison on the 650 and the 770?

The iRobot Roomba 650 is about $200 dollars cheaper it does lack a few features that the 770 offers.

The iRobot Roomba 770 comes with a remote control which is a huge plus. I can literally be drinking my morning coffee vacuuming at the same time.

Now, if that’s not something you looking for, then I would surely go with the iRobot Roomba 650.

I have to say though one of the other features I like about the iRobot Roomba 770 is that it comes with a dust bin notification.

That is one feature the iRobot Roomba 650 does not have.

Features Of the iRobot Roomba 650

iRobot Roomba 650

3 stage Cleaning Process Series 1

This is one of the key ingredients to why iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaners are so awesome. The iRobot Roomba 650 comes with the Series 1 cleaning process. This allows it to pick up as much dirt, hair or any debri that needs to be cleaned. It has a spinning brush on the inside that allows it to get close to any walls or rounded edges. Not to mention it has counter rotating brushes to help kick up all debri, dirt, or pet hair. This allows the automatic vacuum cleaner to kind of sweep up the mess. Bearing how small this vacuum cleaner is it has an extremely powerful suction. It anything was missed by the brushes, the suction from this vacuum cleaner will surely catch it. It is by far the best automatic vacuum cleaner!

It also has a built feature that allows the iRobot Roomba 650 to detect which type of surface it is currently on. It will adjust its settings according to which type of surface it is on.

Whether it needs to clean hardwood, carpet, vinyl floors, linoleum, tile it can handle practically it all.

Dirt Detection

The iRobot 650 has built in sensors that can detect and locate and dirt or debris. This allows the unit to continuous pass over an area until it is clean. The dirt detection feature on the 650 is not as advance as the 770, which has the persistent pass cleaning pattern.

iAdapt Responsive Technology

The iRobot Roombas have basically the same exact technology when it comes to the iAdapt. The main key factor between the two automatic vacuum cleaners is there features. The iAdapt technology is what gives it the ability to move around objects and allow it to navigate around your kitchen table. It also allows the vacuum cleaner to detect what type of surface it is on. It also has a built in feature to detect if it is near any cords, to try avoid anything getting caught up.

Virtual Wall Detection

This automatic vacuum cleaner comes with 1 built in wall detection units. This allows the automatic vacuum cleaner to continuously be able to clean the areas that need to be clean, while being able to avoid areas it shouldn’t be in.

Scheduling

One of the best features that I love about the iRobot Roomba 650 is that it can be scheduled! It will literally clean you house while you are away at work, or even on vacation. That way you always come home to clean house! The iRobot Roomba 650 will start when it is scheduled, and once it completes its cycle it will return to the docking station. Features Of the iRobot Roomba 770

3 Stage Cleaning Process Series 2

This is very similar to the 650, but with one key difference the iRobot Roomba 770 comes with the Series 2 version of the Cleaning process. This gives the 770 the ability to have acoutic and optical sensors to literally find practically any unwanted dirt, pet hair or debir. Having both of these features allows the iRobot Roomba 770 to clean roughly 98% of the floor! You practically will never have to sweep again!

Dual Air Filters

This is one of the main differences between the two iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaners. The iRobot Roomba 770 comes with 2 HEPA Air filters. This makes it absolutely great if you have any pets. It is able to suck up hair, dust, and any other unwanted allergens with out any issues. It will drastically improve the overally air quality and freshness in your home.

Dirt Detection

The iRobot Roomba 770 comes with all the standard sensors of the 650, but with a few updates. It comes with a key feature called “persistent pass cleaning pattern”. This allows the vacuum to clean just as if you were cleaning with it. The sensors will actively search and locate dirt and debri. The built in optical sensors allow the iRobot Roomba 770 to locate any pet hair and clean the area. This is absolutely a must buy item for any pet owner.

iAdapt Responsive Technology

The iRobot Roombas have basically the same exact technology when it comes to the iAdapt. The main key factor between the two automatic vacuum cleaners is there features. The iAdapt technology is what gives it the ability to move around objects and allow it to navigate around your kitchen table. Virtual Wall Detection

This automatic vacuum cleaner comes with 2 built in wall detection units. Unlike the iRobot Roomba 650, which has one wall direction unit.  This allows the automatic vacuum cleaner to continuously be able to clean the areas that need to be clean, while being able to avoid areas it shouldn’t be in. Having 2 built in wall detection units allows the iRobot Roomba 770 complete control over your house. It can nearly navigate around anything!

Scheduling

One of the best features that I love about the iRobot Roomba 770 is that it can be scheduled! It will literally clean you house while you are away at work, or even on vacation. That way you always come home to clean house! The iRobot Roomba 770 will start when it is scheduled, and once it completes its cycle it will return to the docking station. The iRobot Roomba 770 comes with 7 built in cleaning sessions.

Remote Control

This is another key feature that the iRobot Roomba 770 has over the 650, for it comes with a remote control. You practically can clean your house from the bed. Not all automatic vacuum cleaners will come with a remote. Some will just have a timer or some sort of schedule feature, and that’s it. You set it and forget it. However, there are times when you need to vacuum, and you don’t want to wait 4 hours.
